Job Title: Qualified Electrician – Social Housing Repairs
Location: Various sites (tenant and client premises)
Rate: £26.00 per hour
Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Contract Type: Ongoing / Full-time About the Role:
We are currently seeking a fully qualified and experienced Electrician to join our Repairs & Maintenance team. You will be responsible for carrying out a full range of electrical repairs and installations within residential properties, including both responsive repairs and planned works, ensuring a high standard of workmanship and excellent customer service.
This is a hands-on role working in tenants' homes and client premises, both internally and externally. You’ll also be expected to have additional skills across other trades and a flexible approach to multi-trade work. What You’ll Be Doing:
Carrying out electrical repairs, installations, and maintenance across housing stock.
Supporting the delivery of responsive repairs, planned works, and void property refurbishments.
Working to strict deadlines and budgets, escalating variations to supervisors when needed.
Interpreting construction drawings and specifications effectively.
Ensuring all works comply with relevant building regulations and health & safety standards.
Recording works in real time using PDA devices.
Providing excellent customer service and maintaining professional communication at all times.
Supervising and mentoring apprentices as required, including reporting on their progress.
Operating a company van in line with the council’s vehicle policy.What We’re Looking For:
Proven experience in social housing repairs and maintenance (SH experience essential).
Strong understanding of current building regulations and compliance requirements.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently.
Confidence using digital work management systems (PDAs).
A team player with a commitment to high-quality workmanship and safety.Essential Qualifications & Requirements:

City & Guilds/NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation
JIB Gold Card (preferred)
