Senior Solution Architect – Java | Cloud | Kafka | Greenfield Programme
Salary: Up to £108k + Bonus + 14% Pension
The Opportunity
We’re working with one of the UK's key players within financial services on an exciting greenfield transformation programme, building a brand-new platform from the ground up.
This is a rare opportunity to join at an early stage and play a key role in shaping architecture, technology choices, and engineering direction within a modern, cloud-native environment. You’ll be working alongside a senior architecture team to design and deliver scalable, event-driven solutions that will underpin critical business services.
The Role
As a Senior Solution Architect, you will:
* Define end-to-end solution architecture across a modern digital platform
* Design and deliver cloud-native, microservices-based solutions
* Work closely with engineering teams building in Java (Spring ecosystem)
* Shape event-driven architecture using technologies like Apache Kafka
* Contribute to platform design using Kubernetes and containerisation
* Collaborate with stakeholders across business and technology, including governance forums
* Support delivery teams from high-level design through to implementation
What We’re Looking For
* Strong background as a Solution Architect within complex environments
* Proven experience working with Java-based systems (e.g. Spring Boot)
* Experience designing microservices and API-led architectures
* Exposure to event-driven architecture / messaging (Kafka or similar)
* Cloud experience with either Microsoft Azure or Amazon Web Services
* Experience working in financial services or other regulated environments (desirable)
* Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
