Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Registered General Nurse (Band 5) to join our dynamic team at Blackpool Victoria Hospital. This exciting opportunity allows you to work across a range of clinical areas, including General Medical, Surgical, and A&E, providing high-quality patient care within a fast-paced and supportive environment.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
 * Deliver high-quality, compassionate nursing care to patients in medical, surgical, and emergency care settings.
 * Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualised care plans in line with Trust policies and NMC standards.
 * Administer medications safely and effectively in accordance with Trust protocols.
 * Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of care and effective communication across departments.
 * Monitor and assess patients' conditions, responding promptly to any changes or deterioration.
 * Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient documentation and records.
 * Support junior staff, healthcare assistants, and student nurses through supervision and mentorship.
 * Contribute to the development of clinical practice and participate in audits, training, and quality improvement initiatives.
 * Promote a safe and inclusive environment, ensuring compliance with infection prevention and control measures.
 * Work flexibly across wards and A&E as required to support service delivery and patient flow.
Person Specification
Essential Criteria
 * Registered Nurse (Adult) with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
 * Demonstrated clinical experience within a hospital setting (newly qualified nurses welcome to apply).
 * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
 * Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
 * Commitment to providing high-quality, evidence-based care.
 * Willingness to work flexibly across medical, surgical, and A&E departments.
Desirable Criteria
 * Previous experience in acute medical, surgical, or emergency settings.
 * Completion of relevant post-registration courses or training.
 * Mentorship or preceptorship qualification.
 * Experience in managing acutely unwell patients.
