Protocol Education is seeking an experienced and passionate SEND Teacher to join a specialist education setting in Shrewsbury. This is an outstanding opportunity to join a well-established, multi-disciplinary team that delivers an individualised and holistic curriculum to pupils with a wide range of needs—including autism, severe and profound learning difficulties, complex medical conditions, and behavioural challenges.
Pupils range in age from 2½ to post-19, and all benefit from carefully planned support tailored to their EHCPs and personal development goals.
The role:
As a SEND Teacher, you’ll lead a class group and work collaboratively with a team of HLTAs, Teaching Assistants, and therapists. You'll have the flexibility to design learning experiences that meet each child’s communication, emotional, and physical needs.
Responsibilities include:
Delivering and adapting lessons to meet diverse needs
Developing individual learning plans based on EHCPs and school values
Promoting a safe, inclusive and emotionally secure environment
Using trauma-informed and PBS strategies to support behaviour
Engaging with families and wider professionals to ensure consistency
What we’re looking for:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS or QTLS)
Experience in SEND (or a strong interest and willingness to develop)
A creative, calm, and flexible approach to teaching
Strong teamwork and communication skills
A commitment to supporting holistic development, not just academic outcomes
Why join this school through Protocol Education?
Weekly pay through transparent PAYE
FREE Thrive Approach training and access to CPD
A consultant who works with you one-to-one
