Supply Desk is delighted to be working in partnership with a friendly and supportive primary school in the Henley-on-Thames area to appoint a passionate and dedicated Year 4 Class Teacher. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a welcoming school community and play a key role in supporting pupils as they progress through Lower Key Stage 2.
This role would suit an enthusiastic and committed teacher with a strong understanding of KS2 expectations, who is dedicated to helping pupils build on their prior learning and achieve their full potential.
The Role
As a Year 4 Teacher, you will support pupils in developing greater independence and confidence in their learning, while strengthening their knowledge and skills across the KS2 curriculum.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan and deliver engaging, creative, and differentiated Year 4 lessons in line with the KS2 national curriculum
* Support pupils’ development in reading, writing, maths, and SPaG
* Consolidate prior learning while preparing pupils for upper KS2 expectations
* Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment
* Monitor and assess pupil progress, using data to inform teaching and targeted interventions
* Support children with a range of abilities, including those with SEN
* Promote pupils’ confidence, independence, and resilience
* Build strong partnerships with parents, carers, and colleagues
* Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and the wider school team
Requirements
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – desirable
* Experience teaching in Key Stage 2, ideally Year 4 or Lower KS2
* Strong understanding of KS2 curriculum expectations
* Excellent classroom management and organisational skills
* Engaging, adaptable, and nurturing teaching style
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
* Ability to work full-time in the Henley-on-Thames (RG) area from September
Desirable
* Previous experience teaching Year 4
* Strong understanding of progression within KS2
* Experience using assessment data to track and accelerate pupil progress
* Experience supporting children with SEN
* Commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment
