Job Summary
We are seeking a Duty Manager to oversee the day to day operation of our 26 bedroom hotel, which offers bed and breakfast to residents and breakfast and drinks to non-residents.
The Duty Manager will ensure that the opening and closing procedures run smoothly and that the needs of our customers are met. The jobholder will be located in the reception area and will work with Management and colleagues by assisting with breakfast and bar service during busy periods, if required.
Responsibilities
* Supervise daily operations to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
* Provide excellent guest service by addressing inquiries, resolving complaints, and ensuring guest satisfaction.
* Oversee the front desk operations, including check-in/check-out processes and managing reservations.
* Conduct regular walk arounds and checks to maintain high standards of health and safety and report any maintenance or other problems to the GM.
* Responsibility for checking the fire alarm system is tested weekly and ensuring fire emergency equipment is available, fully stocked and charged at the beginning and end of your shift.
* Carry out opening and closing procedures for the reception, restaurant and bar as required.
* Ensure deliveries are dropped off in the correct area, checked, stored and controlled efficiently.
* Handle emergency situations effectively while ensuring the safety of guests and staff.
* Complete the Duty Management hand over at the beginning and end of each shift.
* Occasionally sleep over at the hotel if required.
Requirements
* Previous experience of supervisory duties within the hospitality industry is desirable.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Proficient in guest services with a strong focus on customer satisfaction.
* Ability to work early and late shifts, including evenings and weekends as required. The day shift starts at 7.30am until 3pm and the late shift is from 3pm until 11pm.
* The jobholder may also be required to stay over at the hotel when the General Manager is absent. The jobholder will receive an additional payment of £25 per sleep over when this occurs.
