An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Acute Team at the Royal Hampshire County Hospital in Winchester.
We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic person who wants to work within a team whose priority is to rehabilitate patients back to their maximum functional ability.
The successful candidates will have the opportunity to work with Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists in a variety of clinical settings including: Surgical wards, medical wards, and elderly care, providing rehabilitation programmes and enabling patients to be discharged from hospital as soon as possible. The work can be physically demanding but is very rewarding.
Main duties of the job
You will receive on the job training based on a structured competency framework, and will be well supported by qualified Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists.
We are looking for candidates with good communication skills and the ability to motivate patients and who ideally have previous experience of working with people in an enabling or caring environment, although this is not essential and can be discussed at interview.
The successful candidates will need to be a manual car driver and be prepared to work in a flexible way. We cover a 7 day service so regular weekend working will be required.
We encourage candidates to come and have informal visits.

1. ICU and surgery (general/vascular)
2. Front Door (ED, Acute Medical Unit)
3. General medicine (Respiratory, Gastroenterology, Cardiology)
4. Elderly medicine/Frailty
