Join LJMU as a Science Technician

Are you passionate about biological and environmental sciences and eager to make a significant impact at a renowned institution? LJMU's Faculty of Science is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Science Technician to support our biological and environmental facilities.

In this role, you will collaborate closely with senior colleagues, providing essential support to academic staff and the technical team. Your contributions will ensure the smooth operation of teaching activities and research projects within the Faculty of Science. You will have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge equipment, advancing education and research in this vibrant field.

Teamwork and collaboration are vital. You will assist academic staff by maintaining and calibrating equipment, applying your expertise in biological and environmental skills to uphold high standards of quality and accuracy in teaching and research.

We seek a candidate with a strong background in science, particularly in biological physiology. Hands-on experience with laboratory techniques, instrumentation, and data analysis is essential to support our academic activities.

The ability to work independently and collaboratively is crucial. You should be proactive, detail-oriented, and well-organized. Your responsibilities will include maintaining laboratory equipment, ensuring operational efficiency, and promoting a safe working environment for staff and students.
