About the Role
We’re looking for a Graduate Mechanical Engineer to join our progressive, award-winning Mechanical & Electrical Engineering team in our Glasgow office as part of our 2026 Graduate Programme. You will help deliver sustainable projects that benefit our communities, planet and society. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a team specialising in building services, energy and sustainability, getting involved early in design, working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, and helping clients make key decisions that lead to buildings that deliver.
What You Will Do
* Work on live projects from the start across a variety of sectors, from healthcare to education.
* Undertake mechanical services design and calculations.
* Develop scheme design concepts with supervisors.
* Use Revit and 3D BIM modelling software in design production.
* Coordinate designs with other professional disciplines.
* Produce detailed designs and drawings.
* Contribute to energy and sustainability strategies, including dynamic thermal modelling.
* Participate in design team and client meetings.
* Undertake site visits and surveys.
* Research and implement new technologies.
* Engage in continuous CPD and learning opportunities.
Typical Systems You May Work On
Heating, ventilation, air conditioning and control systems; above-ground drainage systems; and hot- and cold-water services.
About You
At Stantec, we value your potential over past experience. You have, or are working towards, a degree and/or master’s in a relevant mechanical engineering, electrical engineering or building services engineering subject, and a keen interest in our industry. We’re looking for people who are:
* An Adapter: Calm in new and changing situations, comfortable switching between a variety of dynamic tasks.
* A Perseverer: Composed in the face of setbacks, approaching challenges with confidence and determination.
* A Collaborator: Effective at working with different people, considering others’ perspectives to shape better outcomes.
* A Problem-Solver: Ready to share insights and unafraid to challenge conventional thinking.
Working Pattern
To support your development, graduates are in the office at least four days per week so colleagues can provide the appropriate level of support.
What We Can Offer You
* A competitive salary.
* Private medical insurance.
* A range of benefits, including holiday buy and sell, group income protection and life assurance.
* A permanent employment contract demonstrating our commitment to your long-term career at Stantec.
* A professional progression plan, supporting you to attain professional status.
* A supportive and collaborative team environment, an Early Careers peer group, and a wider Employee Resource Group network.
