Established in 1997, Taiko was the first manufacturer of sushi for the UK supermarket industry. Over the past 25 years, it has evolved into a leading producer of Sushi, Food To Go, Prepared Meals, and Snacking products in the UK, supplying major retailers like Waitrose, Tesco, and Sainsbury’s. Taiko has launched more first-to-market Sushi and Food to Go products than any other UK manufacturer.
We are seeking a Process Technologist to translate NPD (New Product Development) into the factory environment, ensuring product quality, safety, and commercial suitability while meeting customer expectations. The role involves evaluating and improving processes through continuous Kaizen activities and being an active member of the HACCP team to maintain standards.
* Attend feasibility and NPD meetings to understand and follow up on new products.
* Coordinate with the Commercial and QA teams to manage distribution changes and documentation.
* Work with the Senior Process Technologist to plan and execute product trials following Taiko’s launch procedures.
* Assist in process improvements and ensure timely product validations for new or existing products.
* Organise and oversee product trials, customer panel trials, and external lab testing, managing all documentation from start to finish.
Requirements:
* Experience in a Food to Go manufacturing environment in a similar role.
* Understanding of operations and products.
* Knowledge of product development processes, including planning trials, creating data for specifications, and writing QAS.
* Ability to follow critical paths and project timelines.
* Reliability and flexibility.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
* Good time management and organisational skills.
* Food-related qualification is advantageous but not essential.
