An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Registered Mental Health Nurse (Band 6) to join the Stewartry Community Mental Health Nursing Team on a fixed term basis for 6 months until 26th October 2026.
Responsibilities
The post holder will provide assessment, support, advice and interventions to people with moderate to severe mental health issues, aiming to recover and work towards sustained wellbeing and self‑management. Key duties include:
* Work closely with patients and carers to deliver therapeutic support
* Collaborate with colleagues across the health and social care partnership and third and independent sector
* Lead clinical decision‑making in often pressured situations
* Participate in full supervision, mentoring and training provided by the team
Qualifications
* Experience working with people with a mental health disorder
* Hold an active Registered Mental Health Nurse Qualification and NMC pin
* Ability to demonstrate skills and knowledge to effectively work within a clinical team
Additional Requirements
Applicants must have a full United Kingdom registration with the appropriate council (e.g., NMC, HCPC, GMC, GDC). The role may require a criminal records check and adherence to a Protection of Vulnerable Groups scheme membership.
