HOSPITAL WASTE PORTER
Salary: £12.51 per hour
Working Hours: Permanent, Full Time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday between 09:30 and 18:00.
Location: Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre, Oxford, OX3 7LD
About the role:
As a key member of the facilities team, you will be responsible for managing all waste streams across the hospital. This is a highly active role that involves significant outdoor work and manual handling.
Responsibilities:
* Waste Collection: Collecting all types of waste (including general, clinical, and recycling) from around the site
* Specialised Handling: Safely collecting and handling full sharps bins and limb bins
* Linen Management: Collecting dirty linen from various departments.
* Logistics: Operating the electrical tug to move waste containers around the large site.
* Safety & Checks: Conducting daily checks on the tug and the waste compactor to ensure safe operation.
* Compound Management: Ensuring the waste compound remains clean, tidy, and compliant.
* Outdoor Work: Be prepared to work outdoors for most of the day in all weather conditions.
Essential:
* Full UK Driving Licence
