This is a fantastic opportunity to take up an exciting and innovative post to support the needs of the local population living with a wide range of mental health difficulties. The role holder will provide operational management to Rotherham care group's Older People's Community Mental Health team (OP CMHT). The AP CMHT Team manager will work collaboratively and multi‑agency to develop operational frameworks and structures.
Responsibilities
To be responsible for the operational management of the Older People's community mental health team and to support transformation and service development.
 * Promote and maintain a quality environment.
 * Ensure agreed standards of care are achieved.
 * Improve patient experience and achieve all performance targets relating to the team.
 * Provide effective communication, risk management and considered risk taking.
 * Provide expert clinical and management advice and guidance for staff and external stakeholders.
 * Focus care on quality and clinical assurance as outlined in key clinical responsibilities.
 * Coordinate staff training to achieve quality and evidence‑based interventions, arranging and coordinating training for relevant clinical skills.
 * Undertake investigations in line with organisational policy (incl. complaints, incidents, serious incidents, structured judgment reviews and HR investigations).
Qualifications & Experience
Knowledge Essential
 * Experience of collaborative working across agencies and professional disciplines.
 * Proven ability to manage a clinical caseload in a flexible manner as required.
 * Experience of providing supervision to staff.
 * Experience of developing care pathways.
 * Experience managing complex cases and risk.
 * Knowledge and understanding of the recovery and wellbeing model and its application.
 * Experience working in numerous mental health settings across a variety of patient needs and complexity.
 * Knowledge of essential physical health care for people experiencing severe mental illness (assessment & management).
 * Professional code(s) of conduct & requirements.
Experience Essential
 * Capability to lead and manage improvements in patient care across care pathways.
 * Confidence to discuss patient management and express clinical opinion with other members of the multidisciplinary team.
 * Willingness to sensibly challenge and effectively address ineffective/weak/poor practice or systems where they occur.
 * Strong role model and leader, inspiring others to deliver safe, effective and personal care every time.
 * Apply patient‑centred & recovery‑focused approaches to assessment & treatment, progressing over time to work across whole care pathways with increasing autonomy and a capacity for complex clinical decision‑making.
 * Experience of engaging in service/quality improvement/evaluation work, research and/or clinical audit.
Qualifications Essential
 * Registered Mental Health Nurse, Occupational Therapist or Social Worker.
 * Up to date with all required statutory & mandatory training.
 * Evidence of continuous professional development.
Desirable
 * A recognised qualification in clinical supervision.
 * Leadership or management qualification.
 * Evidence of ability to study at postgraduate master's degree level.
