Job Description
The salary for this role is £39,610 (inclusive of a Specialist Allowance). On‑site working is expected for 3 days a week, however we actively support requests for flexible working.
Locations: Culham, Oxfordshire (also available at other sites).
This role requires employees to complete an online Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) / be eligible for SC Clearance (must have resided in the UK for the last 5 years) and the Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) checks for criminal convictions and possibly a search of open source data.
Role
As Early Careers Talent Acquisition Lead, you will liaison with the Early Careers development team to support early‑career events such as career fairs and assessment days to ensure a positive experience for candidates and an effective recruitment tool for managers. Working with the Talent Resourcing Team the role will see the process through to offer stage – selling the benefits of the organisation and responding to queries. The role will also contribute to reviewing and developing early‑career recruitment processes and procedures to ensure efficiency, compliance and fairness is continually improved. Additionally, you will seek continuous feedback from the business regarding new early‑career resourcing solutions.
Additional Responsibilities
* Support Early Careers with gathering predicted resourcing needs in line with talent acquisition and workforce planning – initiating the forecast for early talent intake numbers and disciplines.
* As an expert within Smart Recruiters, create adverts relevant to the audience – promoting diversity and eliminating any bias to ensure UKAEA stands out as an employer of choice for early talent.
* Advise hiring managers on attraction and selection strategies, initial pre‑sift of candidates, shortlisting guidance for interview, assessment/interviewing and offer management, ensuring consistency and compliance.
* Provide training and awareness sessions for all panel members assigned for the upcoming EC recruitment campaign whilst roles are live – outlining commitments to timescales and obligations.
* Train, coach and support hiring managers on Smart Recruiters and best‑practice interviewing skills through formal training.
Qualifications
Essential Requirements
* Knowledge of the Early Careers schemes and UKAEA benefits to new starters
* Certificate in HR Practice / CIPD Foundation award in Resourcing Talent or equivalent
* Extensive experience of coordinating in‑house/agency recruitment campaigns for multiple roles
* Experience of using social media tools to develop employer brand and candidate sourcing
* Experience working with/coordinating an Applicant Tracking System
* Knowledge of all recruitment‑related employment law and best practice
* Knowledge and experience of assessment tools and methods
* Track record of improving early‑career recruitment practices, gaining buy‑in for changes and supporting coaches to follow them
* Excellent communication skills – written and verbal
* Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
Desirable
* Competent in visa requirements for eligibility to sponsor or recruit to EC schemes
