History Teacher – Lead KS3 Curriculum Design and Embed Disciplinary Skills in Diverse Contexts – Newham

A highly supportive and academically minded secondary school in Newham is seeking an experienced and analytically strong History Teacher to lead Key Stage 3 Curriculum Development from January 2026.

* History Teacher required from January 2026.
* Newham-based

* Seeking a specialist to lead the development of the KS3 curriculum, focusing on embedding disciplinary skills (causation, consequence, significance) and introducing global contexts.

You will teach History across KS3-KS5, ensuring the curriculum is challenging and skills-focused. The role includes developing departmental expertise in sequencing knowledge and skills effectively to prepare students for strong GCSE outcomes.

Experience and Qualifications

* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a degree in History.
* Proven ability to secure high grades at GCSE/A-Level History.
* Experience in curriculum design and sequencing at Key Stage 3.
* Willingness to contribute to academic enrichment programs, such as history clubs.
