This is a rare opportunity to help shape a brand‑new provision created by an Ofsted Outstanding setting known for exceptional practice and a strong, supportive ethos. To prepare you for success, we're ideally seeking someone who can start sooner at there current site in Fishponds for hands‑on training before moving to the new school. About the Role This role sits at the heart of the school's day‑to‑day running. Alongside this responsive work, you'll also deliver planned intervention sessions that support pupils' academic, social, and emotional development. No two days will look the same: you'll move between supporting in class, stepping in when pupils need you, and working closely with staff to maintain a calm, positive environment. You Will: Providing immediate, in‑the‑moment support across the school when pupils become dysregulated or require quick assistance Responding calmly and confidently to situations as they arise, helping pupils regulate and re‑engage Leading planned 1:1 and small‑group intervention sessions that build social, emotional, and academic skills Supporting learning within a specialist SEN secondary environment, adapting flexibly to a wide range of needs Building strong, trusting relationships with pupils who rely on consistency, warmth, and clear communication Contributing to routines, expectations, and culture within a brand‑new school, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for all This role suits someone who thrives under pressure, stays grounded in challenging moments, and brings enthusiasm, charisma, and emotional intelligence to every interaction. What We're Looking For Experience supporting children or young people with SEN Confidence working with complex needs and dysregulated behaviour Strong communication and de‑escalation skills Emotionally resilient, calm, and able to think on your feet Enthusiastic, creative, and excited to help build a new school culture Passionate about inclusion and personalised learning (HLTA qualification is welcome but not essential - strong experience is equally valued.) Why Join Through Affinity Partnerships Competitive pay and generous referral bonuses Access to excellent CPD, including Team Teach and Trauma‑Informed Practice Support from a dedicated consultant who knows the school well Opportunities to work across multiple specialist sites A strong focus on staff wellbeing and professional growth Weekly pay and a smooth, supportive onboarding process If you're excited by the idea of helping launch a brand‑new SEN secondary school and making a real impact from day one, we'd love to hear from you.
