Senior Manager (H&S, COMAH, Fire, Insurance & Permitting)
The role will be part of the Capital Projects Management Team accountable for implementing the buildings and infrastructure program required to support Agratas’ ambitious plans.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
The role will lead the development and implementation of a large construction scheme and future operations insurance strategy along with a safety management system focused on regulatory compliance (in particular COMAH) and all permitting related to the program, while also effectively managing process-related risks, reporting, and ensuring continuous improvement. The primary point of contact with the Competent Authority and other regulatory bodies and insurance providers. Ensure senior leaders, key stakeholders, and the Safety Committee are kept up to date with project safety deliverables and progress against the strategy. Provide central independent oversight governance and report to executive and relevant senior leadership teams. Provide impartial and direct instruction to process safety engineers and other stakeholders on insurance and safety matters.
Experience and Qualification
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction, or equivalent. Background in managing and delivering technical safety and risk management projects. Experience of leading technical safety and risk assessment in regulated industries (e.g. chemical and process, nuclear, railway, built environment). Solid understanding of relevant international and industry legislation, standards, codes, and guidelines. Experience in safety assessment across the life cycle of plants, infrastructure, and major hazard facilities. Experience in safety assessments, including Fire and Explosion Analysis, Escape, Evacuation and Rescue studies, and Occupied Building Risk Assessment. Experience in addressing Health, Safety & Environmental issues associated with the Construction industry. Experience in developing and implementing construction project insurance strategies. Working knowledge of electrical and mechanical equipment for use in potentially explosive atmospheres. Proven track record of implementing business processes to achieve strategic goals. Proven track record of developing process safety management systems and integrating them into the wider business occupational management system. Working knowledge of the Construction Design and Management regulations (CDM) and the practical application of the Principles of Prevention.
