Our client is a growing construction business seeking a reliable, hands-on General Foreman to join their team on a permanent basis. This is a key hire within a scaling company, offering genuine long-term progression opportunities.
This is a hands-on leadership role, ideal for an experienced carpenter or multi-trade builder who is confident leading small teams while remaining actively involved in site work.
The Role
The General Foreman will lead small site teams, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard. You will work alongside the team daily while overseeing programme, quality and client communication.
Key Responsibilities
1. Leading and instructing small installation teams on customer sites
2. Implementing structured construction systems and build processes
3. Hands-on construction work including timber framing, cladding, insulation, windows and doors, plasterboarding, flooring, roofing, decorating and finishing
4. Problem-solving on site and managing day-to-day operational challenges
5. Ensuring quality standards and customer satisfaction are maintained
6. Working within the Tunbridge Wells workshop on pre-fabrication as required
7. Communicating effectively with clients and updating them on progress
8. Contributing ideas to improve efficiency and build quality
Work Locations
9. Workshop based in Kent
10. Customer sites across London and the South East (typically within one hour of Central London, inside or close to the M25)
11. Primarily site-based and outdoors when not working in the workshop
Requirements
12. Multi-skilled builder or carpenter with strong woodworking ability
13. Minimum three to five years' experience in construction or carpentry
14. Experience leading or supervising small teams
15. Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
16. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think on your feet
17. Good communication skills with both team members and clients
18. Ability to follow structured systems and processes
Package
19. £45,000 - £55,000 per annum depending on experience
20. Permanent, full-time role (Monday to Friday, 8am-5pm)
