Reports To: Technical Manager
Direct Reports: 4 Hygiene Operatives
Responsibility: Ensure high standards of cleanliness and sanitation to maintain product safety, quality, and compliance with legislation, company standards, and customer requirements.
Key Duties:
Supervise, train, and motivate Hygiene Operatives.
Oversee daily hygiene activities and cleaning schedules.
Maintain hygiene standards in all areas, including waste removal and site perimeter.
Ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations and site policies.
Oversee use and storage of cleaning chemicals.
Maintain staffing levels and hygiene documentation.
Liaise with Manufacturing, Engineering, and QA teams.
Promote continuous improvement by implementing SOPs.
Conduct routine inspections and participate in audits.
Experience & Qualifications:
Food Hygiene Level 2 (essential), Level 3 (desirable)
Basic Health & Safety NVQ Level 2 or equivalent
Chemical Handling experience
Knowledge of food safety legislation
Proficiency in Word and Excel
Previous experience in hygiene roles or food manufacturing
