Job Description
Associate / Associate Director – Architecture (Private Residential)
Solihull, Birmingham | £50,000 – £65,000
We’re working with a design-led construction company renowned for its craftsmanship, quality, and commitment to delivering bespoke high-end residential projects across the Midlands and Cotswolds. Each home is unique, a reflection of thoughtful design and meticulous construction, with no detail overlooked.
This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced Architect at Associate or Associate Director level to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of a growing in-house architectural team. You’ll be working directly with the founders to establish the studio's design identity, mentor junior staff, and help steer the strategic direction of the business as it expands.
With a strong portfolio of secured work and over 20 project enquiries in the pipeline, this is a rare chance to influence and lead within a creative and entrepreneurial environment.
What you'll be doing:
* Take full design and delivery responsibility across a portfolio of high-end residential projects, leading from concept through to on-site realisation.
* Oversee project resourcing, workflows, and design quality, ensuring consistency, efficiency, and excellence across the studio’s output.
* Act as the lead point of contact for clients, consultants, and internal teams, building trust and translating client aspirations into exceptional architectural outcomes.
* Contribute to the strategic development of the practice, including business development, team growth, and operational planning.
* Mentor junior architects and contribute to a collaborative, design-focused studio culture.
* Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory standards, technical guidelines, and best practices.
What’s on offer:
* Salary between £50,000 – £80,000, depending on experience and level.
* Highly flexible hybrid working arrangements.
* David Lloyds membership for co-working space.
* Direct influence on the company’s design direction, culture, and future growth strategy.
* Additional benefits to be discussed at interview stage.
Whether you’re already based in the Midlands or open to relocating for the right leadership opportunity, this role is ideal for a seasoned architect looking to make a lasting impact on a studio and its projects from day one.
