Join the Environment Agency as a Technical Advisor – Monitoring and Data Systems Team. Responsibilities
* Set up and manage users for monitoring systems.
* Support users and resolve issues, especially when we move to our new My Environment application.
* Update, improve and maintain datasets.
* Respond to internal and external data requests.
* Support system improvement and upgrade projects.
Key Skills & Experience
* Experience working with large complex datasets.
* Willingness to develop and learn new technical skills and apply them across monitoring data and systems.
* Motivated, organised, friendly, helpful, with an eye for detail; comfortable in a dispersed team environment.
* Proactive and enjoys solving problems.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to convey complex technical information to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
* Ability to build and maintain strong relationships, deliver through others and provide excellent customer service.
Desirable Experience / Skills
* Experience of using and managing environmental monitoring data systems.
* Experience of using Power BI, Access, Excel, Python, SharePoint Online and R.
* A working knowledge of water quality monitoring.
Other Information
Everyone that joins us is required to undertake training and participate in incident response duties when the need to respond arises. The Environment Agency has a Guaranteed Interview Policy to support those with a disability. An apprenticeship may be available for a successful candidate.
Location & Working Arrangements
Work location is flexible but you must base at an Environment Agency office across England. We offer hybrid home/office working but some travel is expected for meetings.
