As part of the Trust’s Risk Management Team, this role provides specialist advice and guidance on health and safety matters across the organisation. You will also lead the planning, delivery and monitoring of Face Fit testing in line with HSENI legislation, ensuring a compliant and sustainable service. About the role:
1. £19.10 per hour
2. Monday to Friday
3. 37.5 hours a week
4. Location: Trust HQ, Knockbracken Healthcare Park
5. Public sector
6. Temporary role (approx 3 months)
What you'll be doing in this role:
7. Provide information, advice and support to trust Directors, managers and staff on matters relating to the management of occupational safety and health in line with current health and safety legislation, Trust policies and procedures and other approved guidance.
8. Provide information, advice and support in specific areas of occupational safety and health including office safety, food safety and hygiene and control of substances hazardous to health.
9. Participate in the development, communication, implementation and review of Trust policies, procedures and other guidance relating to occupational safety and health
10. Facilitate organisational change by developing effective, pro-active and positive working relationships with managers, staff, safety representatives and representatives of the statutory authorities which will promote occupational safety and health.
11. Develop and deliver occupational safety and health training programmes.
12. Assist in the development, completion and maintenance of a Trust-wide occupational safety and health auditing system, including co-ordination of, and participation in inspections, analysis of incidents and claims.
13. Complete risk assessments, giving support and assistance to managers to ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
14. Assist in the development, establishment and maintenance of suitable databases for the collection and analysis of data in areas of occupational safety and health practice.
What you'll need for this role:
15. A degree and a recognised professional health and safety qualification such as NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety (or equivalent).
16. OR a recognised professional health and safety qualification such as NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety (or equivalent) and a minimum of 3 years’ experience of health and safety, working as a health and safety manager / advisor.
17. AND working towards or achieved Membership of the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH).
18. Experience of developing, implementing and maintaining administrative systems in support of service delivery.
19. Experience in developing and effectively managing services/resources across multiple sites.
20. Hold a current full driving licence which is valid for use in the UK and have access to a car on appointment.This criteria will be waived in the case of applicants whose disability prohibits driving but who have access to a form of transport approved by the Trust which will permit them to carry out the duties of the post.
