About the role
We’re looking for a Lead Product & Proposition Manager – Personal Loans to launch a brand-new lending product for The Very Group. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of unsecured lending for millions of customers.
You’ll define the vision, set the strategy, and lead cross-functional squads to bring our Personal Loans proposition to market—creating experiences that are seamless, transparent, and responsible. You’ll turn insights into action, balancing commercial performance with exceptional customer outcomes.
What you will be doing
Product Strategy & Roadmap
* Own the end-to-end Personal Loans proposition for the UK market.
* Translate customer needs, market trends, and financial objectives into a clear multi-year roadmap.
Commercial & Financial Performance
* Set pricing and promotional structures to hit ambitious growth and profitability targets.
* Work with Finance and Credit Risk to model unit economics and optimise margin.
Risk & Compliance
* Partner with Credit Risk and Legal to ensure compliance with UK lending regulations.
* Monitor customer outcomes and risk metrics to protect customers and the business.
Customer & Market Insights
* Use research and data to shape features, messaging, and experiences that resonate.
* Benchmark competitors and identify opportunities to differentiate.
Cross-Functional Leadership
* Lead squads across UX, Engineering, Data, Delivery, and Credit Risk.
* Drive agile delivery, prioritise backlogs, and embed a culture of performance and learning
About you
* Strong academic background (2:1 or above in a numerate discipline).
* Deep knowledge of unsecured lending or experience launching fintech products.
* Commercial acumen with a track record of profitable product development.
* Expertise in risk management and UK lending regulations.
* Exceptional communication and influencing skills—you’ll shape decisions at the highest level.
* 5+ years in product management, innovation consulting, or financial services strategy.
