Responsibilities
* The COO reports directly to the CEO and will be a member of Ofgem’s Senior Executive Committee (SEC), directly involved in all key executive decisions and the principal adviser on financial and corporate matters to the CEO and Board.
* Provide corporate leadership across Ofgem and set the strategic direction and priorities for the organisation.
* Represent Ofgem across government, UK regulatory networks and the energy sector, and engage with senior stakeholders.
* Set the strategic direction for Ofgem, setting out its priorities each year as priorities and requirements change.
* Accountable to both the CEO, as the Ofgem Accounting Officer, and to the Board, providing professional advice and judgment on a broad range of complex matters requiring experience and understanding of the central public sector.
* Maintain corporate oversight of the integration of additional roles and responsibilities that Ofgem is taking on at the request of the government, to support the delivery of Net Zero and the UK’s legally binding carbon reduction targets.
Key Qualifications
Exceptional leadership skills, experience in corporate services transformation, strong senior stakeholder engagement and relationship skills.
