Document Controller (Previous Relevant Experience is Required), Royal Leamington Spa
Telent’s Network Services division, specifically the technology Programmes team, is looking for a Document Controller. This is a maternity cover role for a 6-month fixed-term contract, with the possibility of extension. Ideally, the successful candidate will be located within or near the Midlands region, attending the Warwick Head Office (CV34 5AH) at least once a week initially, with a mix of home working. A full UK driving license is advantageous.
At Telent, you will be part of a larger mission to keep critical networks connected and protected 24/7. The role involves supporting and coordinating the development, maintenance, and submission of essential documentation for the programme(s). Attention to detail is crucial to ensure engineering documentation is accurate, compliant, and correctly uploaded to internal systems.
Responsibilities include:
* Managing document submissions and receipts within the company and client’s Document Management System (DMS).
* Updating work information and disseminating it to team members.
* Managing access to communication platforms and maintaining security measures.
* Ensuring the accuracy of information in the DMS per project requirements.
* Reporting issues related to documents and platform access rights.
* Allocating document numbers, creating metadata, and implementing version control workflows.
* Controlling obsolete documents and performing monthly DMS audits.
* Liaising with technical staff and stakeholders to ensure timely document submission.
* Providing training on DMS and communication platforms.
* Acting as the point of contact for Telent on projects and attending meetings.
* Communicating with the client’s document control staff regarding issues.
Candidate profile:
You are an experienced Administrator, Coordinator, or Document Controller with strong attention to detail and experience managing documentation within projects or programmes. Familiarity with Document Management Systems, version control, and reporting tools like Power BI or Oracle is required. You should be proactive, organized, adaptable, and motivated to support critical infrastructure projects within a collaborative team environment.
Key requirements:
* Experience in document control or management within projects or programmes.
* Understanding of Document Management Systems.
* Experience with Power BI, Oracle, or similar reporting tools.
* Experience handling sensitive information.
* Full right to work in the UK.
* Full UK driving license is highly desirable.
* Willingness to attend the Warwick office at least once a week.
