We are looking for dynamic Healthcare Support Workers to work in our multi-disciplinary team, ensuring a patient focused approach to care.
We have full and part-time posts available for motivated individuals to work as Healthcare Support Workers. This is a privileged role where you will have close contact with patients, providing them with personal care and support at their most vulnerable times.
You must have excellent communication skills and be able to work effectively as part of a team. Be able to maintain high standards and maintain accurate documentation. You must be able to maintain a high level of professionalism at all times.
We will enable you to access training to support you in your role whether new to healthcare or if keen to progress and develop your ongoing career.
Please be aware that this role is not currently eligible for visa sponsorship. Applicants should be aware of the requirement to independently obtain ongoing right to work in the UK beyond the expiry of any temporary or time-limited permissions. Evidence of this will need to be shared with the HR Team to ensure our records remain up to date.
Main duties of the job
* To ensure quality care and support enabling patients throughout their care pathway whilst promoting independence and protecting choice, dignity, privacy and safety.
* To work in support of all qualified staff in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care without direct supervision of a registered practitioner
* To work to high standards, ensuring that holistic care is delivered, and standards of care are enhanced.
* To communicate effectively at all times within the team, other health care professionals and with the patient family/carers.
* Ensure high standards are maintained in a safe environment, which promotes equality and sensitivity for all individuals.
* To regularly assess evaluate and report on actions and activities to registered staff.
* Act as a resource and role model to other staff and patients on the ward.
* Participate in the development, planning and delivery of care.

Education, Qualifications and Training
Essential criteria
* Evidence of Secondary Education to include an understanding of literacy and numeracy.
* Level 2 healthcare certificate (or willing to complete) or equivalent relevant experience
Knowledge and Experience
Essential criteria
* Experience of working in a team under appropriate supervision
* Able to demonstrate an understanding of principles of effective communication and care giving
* Understanding of basic hygiene skills
* Knowledge of when to seek advice and refer to a registered care professional
* Able to listen to advice from colleagues, agree a plan of action and implement
* Understanding of the importance of the promotion of health and wellbeing
* Awareness of manual handling of patients, using lifting aids
