The Stephen Longfellow Academy is seeking to recruit an inspirational colleague for the role of Higher Level Teaching Assistant. This role is vital to our work as an Academy. The successful applicant will support teachers by taking responsibility for agreed learning activities under supervision. Responsibilities include planning, preparing, and delivering activities for individuals, groups, or short-term for whole classes (PPA cover), as well as monitoring pupils and assessing, recording, and reporting on their achievement, progress, and development.
The post holder will also be responsible for managing and developing other Teaching Assistants, including allocating and monitoring work, conducting appraisals, and providing training.
The ideal applicant will:
* Support students with reading and literacy skills under the teacher’s guidance.
* Have a good understanding of child development and learning processes.
* Possess a Level 2 Numeracy/Literacy qualification (or willingness to work towards).
* Have a qualification in English and Mathematics at Grade 4/C or above (or equivalent) GCSE level.
* Hold Higher Level Teaching Assistant status (or willingness to work towards).
