What you’ll be doing:

\n
\n
* Supervising and conducting analysis and experiments to support system qualification
\n
* Supporting progression of design optimisation
\n
* Producing and reviewing radiological safety justifications for proposed design solutions
\n
* Direct development of in-house toolsets in support of the department goals
\n
* Leading detailed shield design, balancing build requirements alongside system performance requirements
\n
\n

Your skills and experiences:

\n

Essential:

\n
\n
* Relevant STEM degree in Physics/Mathematics/Chemistry/Nuclear Engineering
\n
* Demonstrable experience of radiation transport codes such as MCNP/MCBEND/Attilla
\n
* Understanding of radiation physics
\n
* Experience of radiation safety studies & behaviours
\n
* Experience of radiation metrology
\n
* Knowledge of the ALARP principle
\n
\n

Desirable:

* Experience of managing technical projects
\n
\n
