Job Overview
We have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated, enthusiastic Band 3 Theatre Support Worker to join our efficient and friendly operating theatre team at the Grange University Hospital.

The successful applicant must possess excellent communication skills and must be reliable, dependable and flexible. While full theatre training will be provided, prior experience in a hospital or care setting is required.
Responsibilities
* Assisting in the operating theatre environment, including preparation of equipment and instruments.
* Providing support to theatre staff during procedures.
* Maintaining cleanliness and order of the theatre area.
* Carrying out manual tasks such as lifting, assisting mobility and general assistance to staff and patients.
* Working flexible hours and accepting a range of shift patterns.
Qualifications & Knowledge
Essential Criteria
* Level 3 qualification in a health‑care related subject or equivalent experience, with evidence of work‑based competency in clinical care duties.
* Knowledge of the Code of Conduct for Healthcare Support Workers in Wales and the Wales Delegation Guidelines (HEIW).
* Knowledge of relevant policies and procedures within a healthcare setting, including safeguarding adults and children, confidentiality and GDPR.
* Enhanced DBS clearance (including Adults and Children Barred List check).
Desirable Criteria
* Level 3 qualification in Perioperative Support or equivalent.
* Welsh language skills (levels 1–5 in understanding, speaking, reading and writing).
Experience
Essential Criteria
* Experience working within a relevant health or social care environment, providing direct patient care.
Desirable Criteria
* Experience working with patient groups relevant to the area of practice.
* Experience working within the NHS and performing other manual tasks.

* Good verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly and sensitively.
* Ability to work with minimum supervision to high standards.
* Ability to remain calm in stressful situations.
* Demonstrated caring and compassionate approach.
* Organisational skills, with ability to plan and prioritise workload efficiently.
* Proficiency with technology, including Microsoft Office and virtual platforms such as Teams.
* Physical capability to lift, assist with mobility and perform other manual tasks.
Desirable Criteria
* Welsh language skills (levels 1–5).
