Overview

The USU Eastern Prehistoric Museum is looking to hire a Front Desk/Gift Shop Clerk, who will assist with admissions, memberships, and all things pertaining to the museum’s gift shop.

**Current work shift available**

1. Saturdays: 1:00-7:15 pm
2. Wednesdays: 1:00-5:15 pm
3. Thursdays: 1:00-5:15 pm
4. Total: 14.75 hours

Responsibilities

5. Greet visitors and introduce them to the museum.
6. Ring up museum admissions and memberships.
7. Ring up museum gift shop purchases.
8. Ring up museum meeting room rentals.
9. Price gift shop merchandise and stock shelves.
10. Keep the gift shop areas and shelves neat and tidy.
11. Count cash drawer at the beginning and/or end of shift.
12. Open/close gift shop areas at the beginning/end of the day.
13. Become familiar with and follow gift shop policies and procedures.
14. Complete required trainings.
15. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

16. Dependable/committed to working assigned schedule
17. Open to trading shifts with co-workers, as needed
18. Ability to follow policies and procedures

Preferred Qualifications:

19. Retail/Cash handling experience

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):

20. Confident/comfortable interacting with the public
21. Pays attention to detail
22. Ability to adapt to changing conditions or work assignments
23. Willingness to learn new skills or techniques

This position requires moderate physical effort. Employees must have sufficient strength to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position, including lifting up to 25 pounds, walking and standing. Employees must adhere to safety precautions and may be required to use protective equipment.
