Financial Controller – Group Functions
My client is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to oversee financial management across a range of central business functions within a large, complex organisation. This role plays a key part in ensuring strong financial control, high-quality reporting, and effective planning across several critical areas of the business.
Working closely with senior leaders, you’ll provide financial oversight, challenge, and insight to support decision-making and drive performance. You’ll also lead elements of reporting and modelling, while contributing to a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
What you’ll be doing
* Leading financial reporting, planning, and control across multiple central functions
* Overseeing budgeting, forecasting, and longer-term financial planning processes
* Providing clear visibility of cost performance, including operational spend and investment activity
* Supporting senior stakeholders with financial insight and guidance to inform decision-making
* Ensuring robust balance sheet management and overall integrity of financial information
* Managing and developing a small team, alongside coordinating with wider finance colleagues
* Supporting financial modelling for business initiatives and investment cases
* Contributing to audit processes and ensuring compliance with internal policies and standards
* Driving improvements in financial processes, controls, and cost efficiency
What their looking for
* A professionally qualified accountant (or equivalent experience) with a strong track record in a senior finance role
* Experience operating within complex, multi-layered organisations, ideally with exposure to international or cross-functional environments
* Strong financial control and technical accounting expertise combined with commercial awareness
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build credibility and influence stakeholders at all levels
* A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with a focus on continuous improvement
* Proven experience leading and developing teams in a collaborative environment
