Our client is experiencing a pivotal moment in there expansion! They are in search of a Technical Publications Manager to become a crucial part of the dynamic team. Here is what the role entails:
* Empowering a Team: Lead and inspire a talented team of around 10 individuals, including Technical Authors and Illustrators.
* Client Engagement: Work closely with both existing and prospective clients, lending your expertise to our sales department in crafting compelling quotations.
* Data Detective: Dive into source data to understand its implications on technical publications, ensuring accuracy and relevance.
* Stakeholder Connection: Identify key stakeholders to create or revise technical publications that align with the client's exact needs.
* Efficient Resource Management: Skilfully manage workloads, making the most of available resources to accommodate changes and produce new technical publications efficiently.
* Quality Control: Deliver draft technical publications for engineering governance, ensuring they meet our high standards within agreed timeframes.
* Support Hub: Be the go-to person for resolving technical queries related to publications from both internal and external stakeholders.
* Progress Reporting: Provide regular updates on the status of technical publication tasks as required.
What we are Looking For:
Experience/Skills:
* A rich background in engineering and/or Defence with a minimum of two years in a managerial authoring role.
* The ability to craft precise and comprehensive operating and maintenance manuals based on various source information, including engineering drawings.
* Proficiency in working under tight time constraints.
* Excellent command of Microsoft Office.
* Strong familiarity with Defence Publications like AESPs, APs, and BRs.
* Experience in managing small teams and the ability to coordinate workflows for timely, budget-compliant project deliveries.
* Two years of project management experience or a recognized Project Management qualification (e.g., APMP or Prince 2).
* Sound knowledge of DE&S working practices and procedures.
