Job Description
Reporting to the CFO, your key responsibilities as Head of Planning will include:
* Ownership, design and implement financial plan which meets the needs of organisation.
* Own the budgeting and forecasting work process, providing analysis and therefore guidance to senior stakeholders.
* Assist CFO with the development of targets; track and forecast targets achievement through the year.
* Own the continuous improvement of the financial planning process.
* Delivery of monthly financial information & KPIs including analysis and insights for leadership reports..
* Create and manage models that drive insight into performance of Schools, courses and functions, that enable data driven decision making
* Implementation and management of new systems and tools supporting efficient and timely planning and reporting.
* Lead and develop a best-in-class team.
* Deputise for the CFO when required.
The Successful Applicant
A successful Head of Planning should have:
* Fully qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA, ICAEW)
* Demonstrable skills in financial planning and analysis, to include report writing, presentation and business partnering are essential
* Working at pace, managing multiple priorities and strong communication skills are all required.
* Previous experience working with key stakeholders and delivering change and process improvement
* Curious and able to bring insight and thought leadership to both the Finance team and wider University
* Strong interpersonal skills
