Role

Bolton Council is seeking compassionate Care Assistants for permanent or fixed-term roles across our three residential care homes, Wilfred Geere (Farnworth), Laburnum Lodge (Breightmet) and Dove House (Bolton Town Centre).

You’ll support residents needing rehabilitation or assessment, helping them regain independence or transition to long-term care.

Key duties include assisting with personal care, helping with eating and drinking, supporting mobility and comfort, maintaining a clean and safe environment, and responding to emergencies. You’ll also contribute to care planning, communicate effectively with individuals with varying needs, and work closely with NHS and Local Authority teams to deliver high-quality, person-centred care.

Currently we have weekly hours ranging from 14hrs to 29.5hrs. Shifts follow a set rolling rota with fixed shift lengths. Long shifts are not available. Dependant on location earliest start time is 7:15am and latest shift end is 10:00pm.

We’re looking for individuals with work or lived experience in care or a genuine willingness to learn. Above all, you must be able to demonstrate kindness, compassion, and respect when supporting our residents. Basic computer skills are essential, as you’ll be using digital systems to record and access care information.

Please note, Bolton Council is currently unable to offer sponsorship for these roles. Applicants must therefore have the Right to Work in the UK.
