What is the job role?

Horizon is seeking an experienced social worker who is interested in fast-paced, exploitation work in a well-established multi-agency team to contribute to the safeguarding of vulnerable children and the effective disruption of perpetrators and locations. The role includes having a small complex case load as well as overseeing a small number of alternatively qualified staff, as well as deputising for the team manager on occasions and chairing multi-agency child exploitation meetings.

All candidates must have the Right to Work in the UK. We are currently not offering sponsorship for this role.

This post is exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and as such appointment to this post will be conditional upon the receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of police records via Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).


Who are we looking for?

The Horizon Team are seeking to recruit a Senior Practitioner who is an inclusive leader who values diversity and promotes a culture of respect, collaboration and continuous improvement. We are seeking a person who is committed to creating an environment where every individual feels valued and supported.

You should be committed and passionate about practice, sharing learning and knowledge and developing others.

You will be a qualified and experienced Social Worker who has:

1. A current registration with Social Work England.
2. A sound knowledge of relevant legislation, policies and procedures.
3. A proven ability to work under pressure and make sound decisions.
4. Knowledge of assessment methods, care management and casework methods.
5. Experience of carrying out a range of statutory work with children
6. Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with children
