Job Title: Principal Engineer - Electrical Engineering (Power)
Location: Barrow-In-Furness (Hybrid) - 2 days a fortnight onsite; 1 day a week onsite at Filton, depending on business needs.
Salary: Up to £57,500 (commensurate with skills and experience)
What You'll Be Doing:
* Craft innovative design solutions that meet project milestones in terms of time, cost, and quality.
* Manage and develop requirements and acceptance criteria for systems or products across various platforms.
* Understand contractual and performance requirements, supporting design, build, integration, installation, and commissioning activities.
* Create essential documentation for design reviews, including diagrams, technical specifications, and supporting calculations.
* Provide technical support for integrated performance and acceptance activities, ensuring smooth transitions from suppliers to customer acceptance.
* Assist in estimating the scope of work and resources needed for bids and project planning.
* Support Certificate of Design activities and present complex technical arguments clearly and logically.
* Deliver engineering solutions to support build activities, defect resolution, and change management.
Your Skills and Experiences:
* BEng (Hons) / MEng or equivalent, with CEng status or the ability to meet CEng requirements.
* Proven experience in the engineering lifecycle.
* Knowledge in areas such as power system modelling, generators, switchgear, protection, or power electronics.
* Deep understanding of Power System Architecture, Power Generation and Distribution, and Protection and Co-ordination.
* Extensive knowledge of AC and DC electrical power systems.
* Experience working within relevant engineering roles adhering to industry codes and standards.

The Electrical Engineering Power Team:
As a key member of the Electrical Engineering Power Team, you will lead the development of design documents, review supplier documentation, and create technical requirements. We also offer relocation support packages for all Submarines roles, subject to eligibility criteria.
