About the Role
We are seeking a qualified and motivated Operations Operative (Electrician) to join our growing operations team. This role is essential to supporting the electrical and operational requirements of our car parking business.
The role will involve a variety of tasks. A significant focus will be on electrical work such as installing, maintaining, and repairing CCTV systems, ANPR solutions, and battery/solar-powered equipment. In addition, you will support operational duties, including setting up new car parks, carrying out routine site maintenance, and installing signage.
The position involves regular travel across the North of the UK, with occasional overnight stays, ensuring our car park sites remain safe, reliable, and fully operational.
Key Responsibilities
Electrical Duties
* Install, maintain, and repair CCTV and ANPR camera systems at car park sites.
* Work with battery and solar-powered solutions, including setup, wiring, and troubleshooting.
* Carry out electrical works including cabling, connections, inspection, and testing.
* Ensure all installations and maintenance meet IET Wiring Regulations (BS 7671) and relevant UK standards.
* Conduct site visits for fault-finding, repairs, and planned maintenance.
* Complete all required documentation, reports, and test certificates.
Operational Duties
* Assist with setting up new car park sites, including equipment installation and basic groundworks support.
* Install and maintain car park signage, barriers, and associated equipment.
* Undertake routine maintenance checks to ensure sites remain safe and operational.
* Provide operational support to colleagues as required.
Skills & Qualifications
Essential:
* NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Electrical Installation.
* Up-to-date electrical registrations/certifications (e.g., ECS/JIB Gold Card).
* Strong knowledge of low-voltage systems, DC wiring, and fault-finding.
* Experience installing and commissioning CCTV and/or ANPR systems.
* Familiarity with IP networking and PoE installations.
* Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel extensively.
* Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
Desirable:
* Experience with solar PV or battery storage systems.
* Manufacturer-specific CCTV/ANPR training (e.g., Hikvision, Axis, Dahua, Genetec).
* Additional Health & Safety certifications (e.g., ECS/CSCS, IPAF, Working at Heights).
* Awareness of GDPR and data protection requirements relating to CCTV/ANPR.
