The team..
ITV distributes both our own ITV Studios produced and acquired programmes and formats worldwide. The Royalty Payments team is responsible for reporting to producers, broadcasters, other stakeholders and contributors for their shares of the profit that is generated from these sales.
The team is part of central Finance Operations and provides support to ITV's content distribution arm, Global Partnerships. The Royalty Payments team also collaborates closely with colleagues in Talent Payments, Rights, Business Affairs and Finance.
The role..
This is a 12-month fixed-term opportunity reporting to the Royalty New Deals Manager. The New Deals Specialist plays a key role in ensuring new royalty deals are set up accurately and efficiently, enabling clear, timely and compliant reporting to participants. Working across contracts, systems and reporting, the role supports the successful commercial exploitation of ITV's content portfolio.
Some of your key day-to-day responsibilities will include:
Review new deal contracts and determine the most appropriate reporting approach (automated or bespoke)
Set up new royalty reporting templates and participant distribution statements
Interpret legal and financial information from contracts and ITV rights and finance systems
Collaborate with team members to resolve queries and provide technical guidance
Build effective working relationships across Finance, Legal and other business areas
Support the wider team to meet deadlines and KPIs during peak periods
Contribute to royalty system testing, enhancements and migration activities
Work with the Royalty New Deals Manager to deliver continuous process improvements
Stay up to date with new media formats and industry developments
Skills you'll need (minimum criteria)
Experience of working in a media royalties, rights, talent payments or legal environment OR sufficient contract interpretation experience in a similar industry
Experience of reading and interpreting complex legal documents
Experienced user of rights or royalties management systems (desirable)
Must be confident using Excel and working with data
