Esteem Project Support Worker
We are looking for an Esteem Project Support Worker to join our Early Help Service's Family Hub. This new service brings together a range of support for vulnerable children, young people, and families. Your role will be central to the Esteem Project, which is dedicated to delivering youth-centred activities that build confidence and social skills in young people aged 8-18.
Please note salary advertised in full-time equivalent and will be pro rata.

About the role
We are looking for positive, enthusiastic people with a strong passion for supporting the self-esteem and social skill development of young people, along with an ability to engage with this age group. The sessional post holders will be encouraged to utilise their own sporting, artistic, culinary, or musical talents to engage positively and effectively with young people.
The Esteem sessions run Tuesday at Windsor Family Hub and Wednesdays at Riverside Family Hub, Maidenhead between 4.30pm - 8.00pm. The sessions are split into 2 age groups with 8-13yrs session first followed by a 13-18yrs session. The total working hours would be 4pm - 9pm each evening.
We would consider applicants who are able to commit to one evening a week (Tuesdays or Wednesdays) and those who could commit to both evenings.
As the Esteem Project Support Worker, you will be responsible for:
2. Planning and delivering a range of engaging youth-centred activities, including one-on-one sessions, group programs, and holiday activities.
3. Working collaboratively within a supportive team to create a welcoming and inclusive environment for young people with low self-esteem, including those who may be neurodiverse.
4. Fostering opportunities for young people to build friendships, enhance confidence, and promote overall well-being.
5. Utilising your own personal talents, such as in sports, arts, or music, to positively engage with young people.
6. Contributing to the service during weekday evenings.

About you
The ideal candidate will have a passion for supporting young people and helping them to thrive. You will have:
7. Experience working directly with young people aged 8-18.
8. A relevant Youth Work qualification (NVQ Level 2 or equivalent) or significant experience in the field.
9. An awareness and understanding of autism and anxiety in young people.
10. The ability to develop positive relationships, keep confidential records, and work as part of a flexible, supportive team.
11. A highly motivated and responsible approach with excellent communication skills.
12. A strong passion for Achieving for Children’s vision, mission, and values.
