GSL Education is working in partnership with a welcoming mainstream primary school in Harlow that has a dedicated SEN provision on site. The school is seeking a committed and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to support a child with autism within this specialist provision.

About the Role
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will provide focused support to a pupil with autism within the school’s SEN provision. You will play an important role in helping the child access learning, develop communication skills, and build confidence in a safe and nurturing setting.
Working closely with the SENCO, class teachers, and other support staff, you will help implement personalised strategies and contribute to a consistent and supportive learning experience.

Key Responsibilities
* Providing tailored support for a child with autism within the SEN provision
* Supporting learning through structured and adapted activities
* Promoting communication, social development, and emotional regulation
* Encouraging independence and positive behaviour
* Assisting with transitions and daily routines
* Implementing strategies outlined in the pupil’s EHCP and support plans
* Working collaboratively with teaching staff and external professionals
* Maintaining accurate records and contributing to progress reviews

The Ideal Candidate
* Experience supporting children with autism and/or SEN
* A calm, patient, and empathetic approach
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
* Ability to build trusting, positive relationships with pupils
* Confident supporting behaviour and emotional regulation
* Passionate about inclusive education and pupil wellbeing
* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
