We're seeking a Communications and Engagement Assistant to join our dynamic team and help deliver high-quality, creative, and engaging communications across a range of channels.
As part of our communications and engagement team, you'll play a key role in supporting projects that span marketing campaigns, social media, media relations, and online content. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain experience across all communications disciplines while contributing to work that makes a difference in our community.
The role will provide administrative support to ensure smooth delivery of communications services and you will be able to respond to internal and external enquiries promptly and professionally. You will be expected to research, create, and improve content for council platforms, including websites and social media and assist in designing and delivering marketing campaigns and materials to meet strategic objectives.
The successful candidate will support the development of creative communications using a range of software tools, help write and edit news stories, case studies, and other content for multiple channels and monitor and analyse communications performance data to measure impact and effectiveness.
We're looking for someone who is a strong communicator with excellent writing skills and attention to detail and who is creative, self-motivated and able to work both independently and as part of a team. You will be skilled in creating engaging social media content and tailoring messages for different audiences.
If you are educated to degree level in a communications-related discipline (or equivalent experience) and have experience in working in a communications role, ideally across marketing, design, PR, and digital/social media then we want to hear from you.
Experience in the public sector is desirable, and flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends for events is required.
