South Staffordshire Council is seeking an experienced Environmental Health Officer to join our Environmental Health & Licensing Team. This role focuses on Food safety, licensing, health and safety, animal welfare and public health matters.
About the Role
* Undertake food safety interventions, food complaint investigations, public health registrations, health and safety investigations, infectious disease control and animal welfare licensing inspections.
* Lead officer for high risk/approved premises in the district.
* Liaise with partner agencies and participate in safety advisory groups and advise of event safety.
* Complete the animal welfare licensing level three course for inspectors.
* Support the wider Environmental Health & Licensing Team across food safety, health and safety, housing and licensing matters.
About You
* Professionally qualified with a degree in Environmental Health and a minimum of two years post-qualification experience.
* Skilled in interpreting and applying environmental health legislation, especially food safety and health and safety.
* A confident communicator who can build effective working relationships with colleagues, developers, residents and partner agencies.
