WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
We are looking for a full time, permanent Reporting & Compliance Accountant. Based in our London office in Hatton Garden, Farringdon, London, on a hybrid working pattern. This involves 3 days in the office (Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday) and the rest working from home. You will be a key team member of the International Finance team. This position will report directly into the Group Reporting Manager and is responsible for supporting preparation and production of individual entity and consolidated financial statements for internal and external reporting compliance, in accordance with applicable accounting standards (UK, US GAAP and IFRS). You will also be working with the external tax accountants and supporting individual non-UK entity tax (France Germany & Japan), annual accounts and local compliance filings.
THE ROLE
The key areas of responsibility include:
* Assist in preparation of multicurrency individual entity and consolidated financial statements monthly under UK GAAP for management performance review and decision-making
* Liaise with statutory UK auditors and support preparation of the statutory financial statements for individual entity and applicable Groups (UK GAAP)
* Support preparation of US GAAP financial statements monthly for the parent company reporting
* Prepare various balance sheet and profit and loss reconciliations to support US GAAP adjusted balances for parent company reporting
* Responsible for uploading individual entity trial balances into parent company reporting system and preparing reconciliations to ensure no discrepancies post upload
* Assist in preparation and posting of various US GAAP adjustments into the parent company reporting system and liaise with the parent company finance team to address any questions
* Oversee and maintain Group charts of accounts between internal and parent company accounting systems and ensure master mapping files are up do date
* Assist Group Reporting Manager with preparation of necessary supporting documents and reconciliations for local tax, compliance and statutory filings across the Group and individual international entities.
* Assist with all aspects of the UK statuary audit process for the Group liaising with external auditors, preparing required supporting schedules and disclosure notes
* Update and maintain internal compliance schedule for each individual entity and the Group
* Assist with all aspects of parent company annual statutory audit completed under US GAAP; prepare and deliver requested supporting documents in accordance with the specified timeline
* Support preparation of calculations for R&D tax credit working closely with the development team
* Create efficiencies and continually improve the Group consolidation process
* Assist in implementation of the Group consolidation software and ensure it is kept up-to-date, properly maintained and supports Group consolidation requirements
* Identify process and controls improvements within the Group's financial reporting and implement best practices
* Complete various secretarial duties with necessary diligence and timelines
* Support Group Reporting Manager and the wider finance team with ad-hoc financial reporting and operational accounting projects as required
SPECIAL SKILLS
Knowledge / Experience / Qualifications:
* CIMA/ACCA/ACA qualified/part-qualified with 3-5 years post qualified experience in a similar role
* Experience in tax reporting, with exposure to international tax is preferred but not required
* Knowledge and proven experience of FRS/IFRS reporting and technically up to date
* Previous exposure to US GAAP is preferred but not required
* Strong excel and analytical skills
* SAP Business One and Oracle systems experience is desirable
* Able to meet tight timeframes and being highly organised
* Previous experience working for an international business is preferred
