Graduate / Junior Java Developer
This role is a key contribution to our vehicle telematics business unit. You will gain hands‑on experience on live projects, receive comprehensive training and mentorship, and work in a modern, collaborative environment at our telematics head office in Arden Square, Crewe, Cheshire.
Key details:
* Working hours: Monday‑Friday 8:30am – 5:00pm
* Location: Arden Square, Crewe, Cheshire
* No visa sponsorship – you must have full, long‑term right to work in the UK
Responsibilities
* Coordinate with internal teams and work collaboratively as a team player
* Assess feature requests and develop technical solutions
* Write effective, scalable, and testable code
* Integrate user‑facing elements into applications
* Improve functionality of existing systems
* Test and debug programs
* Identify and fix production bugs
Qualifications
* Recent degree in computer science or equivalent subject
* Familiarity with at least one popular Java framework (e.g., Spring, Netty)
* Experience with an Object‑Relational Mapper (e.g., Hibernate)
* Some knowledge of front‑end technologies/frameworks (Angular, React, Vue, Next.js, etc.)
* Strong problem‑solving skills
* Effective communication skills, both technical and non‑technical
* Passion for simplifying processes
* Knowledge of relational databases and design (Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, etc.)
* Beneficial familiarity with NoSQL databases (e.g., DynamoDB, Cassandra, Mongo)
