Court of Protection (Property & Affairs) Senior Paralegal
Location: Manchester (Hybrid Working)
Overview:
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Senior Paralegal to join a highly regarded Public Law team recognised for its work across education, health, social care, and human rights. The successful candidate will support a specialist team handling Court of Protection (Property & Affairs) matters and the administration of Personal Injury Trusts.
This role offers the chance to work in a supportive, collaborative environment where people genuinely enjoy working together to make a difference. Hybrid working is available, with occasional office attendance required.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist fee earners with their caseloads within the Court of Protection team.
* Draft correspondence and prepare court documents.
* Conduct legal research and provide clear, concise summaries.
* Liaise with clients (including vulnerable individuals), case managers, and other professionals.
* Support new client enquiries and maintain accurate internal records.
* Manage calls and casework efficiently, ensuring excellent client service.
* Maintain up-to-date knowledge of procedures and relevant legal developments.
* Assist with billing and general administrative support.
Experience & Skills Required:
(Essential)
* Strong, demonstrable knowledge of Court of Protection (Property & Affairs) cases, the Mental Capacity Act, and the administration of Personal Injury Trusts.
* Excellent client care and communication skills.
* A team player who can also work independently to deliver results.
* Strong ability to prioritise, manage workloads, and work to deadlines.
* Proficient in legal research and confident using case management systems and Microsoft Office.
* Highly organised with strong written communication and attention to detail.

* Friendly, professional, and empathetic manner when dealing with clients from all backgrounds.
Desirable:
* Law degree or equivalent legal qualification (LPC/PGDL).
* Experience working with vulnerable clients.
* Previous experience within a legal or public-facing environment.
* Familiarity with the Proclaim case management system.
