Job title: Senior Occupational Therapist
Salary: PO3 £42,839 - £46,142
Hours: 37 hours
Contract: Permanent x 1, Maternity cover x 1
Location: Albion House, covering the West North West of the city.
About The Role
As a Senior Occupational Therapist you will visit people in their own homes and undertake Occupational Therapy assessments with disabled adults and older people, using a strength‑based occupational focus and aiming to reduce barriers to inclusion in day‑to‑day activities. This will include making recommendations for major adaptations and equipment to enable people to remain in their own homes for as long as possible.
You will need to have established skills in moving and handling, and positive risk taking to identify solutions to reduce risk while considering the needs and personal outcomes of disabled people and their families. Experience of undertaking assessments for optimised handling, including single‑handed care, would be an advantage.
In the West of the city home care services are based on a ‘wellbeing model’ that offers co‑production of person‑centred care and wrap‑around health and care support in local communities. You will act as the link worker with this team, taking a personalised approach to assessment and support planning to achieve desired outcomes and ensuring that all options of equipment, adaptations, telecare and community engagement are integrated into the support plan.
Professional supervision and line management are provided by a Disability Team Manager, who is a qualified OT. Senior OTs are responsible for supervising less experienced members of the team.
We encourage our staff to grow their career with us from students and newly qualified Occupational Therapists through to senior and experienced managers. Continued Professional Development (CPD) is central to our practice and staff are given a half‑day a month to develop it. Clear career progression pathways and balance between support and challenge are maintained in all roles.
