Female Support Worker – Brain Injury Rehabilitation Location: Northampton, NN5 Salary: £12.50 – £14.00 per hour (DOE) Job Type: Self-Employed / Flexible (Part-time) Driver Essential: Yes Start Date: ASAP Hours: Monday: 4pm to 9pm Wednesday: 4pm to 9pm Every other Saturday: 10am-4pm or 10am-9pm NSS PLUS LTD (NeuroSupport Services) is a specialist provider dedicated to helping individuals with acquired brain injuries (ABI) regain independence and improve their quality of life. We are currently seeking professional Support Workers and Healthcare Assistants to join our team in Northampton. The Role Our client is a 15 year old female, who is currently seeking three Support Workers. The central role of the support worker will be to support the client in all activities of daily living, to ensure she is maintaining as much independence and function as possible, to encourage the development of a positive self-image and self-esteem, and to enable her to reach her maximum potential whilst ensuring her safety and welfare. The support worker will support the client in her own home, within her local community and in visiting people and places that are important to her and the family and will be expected to work co-operatively with the client's family and take directions from them, as well as the Case Managers, in line with their needs as a family, and on any therapeutic programmes, her care plans and daily living needs. Responsibilities: * To support the client with all aspects of her personal care needs. * To ensure constant supervision of the client both within the home and in the community. * The support worker will work in collaboration with the client's parents. * Working with treating therapists such as occupational therapist, speech and language therapist, music therapist and clinical psychologist as required, and follow their recommended programmes. * Engage in playful activities with the client both within the home and in the community. * Supporting the client during occasional school holiday ‘twin days’ where the client is taken to an activity with their twin brother. * Attendance and engagement in supervision, team meetings and multi-disciplinary team meetings as required. Mandatory Requirements To be considered, candidates MUST meet the following criteria: * UK Experience: At least 6 months of UK-based support worker experience (within the last 3 years). * Licence: A full, clean UK Driving Licence and access to a car for work use. * Communication: Clear, fluent English is essential. * Status: Applicants must be willing to work on a self-employed basis. * CV: Your CV must clearly highlight your relevant experience and qualifications. Preferred Candidate Profile * Experience in Brain Injury (ABI/TBI), stroke, dementia, or aphasia is highly advantageous. * Background in Psychology (Graduates are encouraged to apply) or as a Therapy Assistant, Rehabilitation Support Worker, Healthcare Assistants or Care Worker * Ability to work on your own initiative while being a key part of a Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT). * Strong organizational skills and basic IT literacy (Word/Excel).
