The Aspire Training Team are currently recruiting for a punctual, reliable and enthusiastic individual to join Dean Park Day Nursery as a Level 3 Childcare Apprentice.
Dean Park Day Nursery is situated in a picturesque location, close to the town centre, its vast open spaces have enabled us to create a setting that has a real focus on outdoor learning and discovery, allowing children to experience and interact with nature every day. With six acres of land surrounding the nursery, we also boast an impressive outdoor learning environment.

This is an exciting opportunity to complete a Level 3 Childcare apprenticeship within a friendly team at a fantastic setting.
Your duties and responsibilities would include;
1. Provide a high standard of physical, emotional, social and intellectual care for all of the children placed in the Nursery
2. To work part of a team to ensure that you are providing a stimulating and a high standard of education
3. To maintain and follow all safeguarding policies and procedures at all times
4. To promote positive relationships in the early years’ setting
5. Promote the health, safety and wellbeing of the children
6. Support the children’s development, learning and play
7. Contribute to the effectiveness of team work
8. To role model and provide high quality teachable moments being aware of each child’s individual needs and development
9. Follow the children’s individual learning plans
10. provide next steps to parents through monthly observations
11. to support the management team in supporting the nursery to meet all legal requirements following the “Statutory framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage”
12. To develop and maintain strong partnerships and communication with parents/carers to facilitate day-to-day caring and early learning needs.
13. All children to be supported ensuring that their kept safe and have access to an enriched learning environment
14. Provide and promote inclusion for all children, staff and students
15. Follow in the moment planning with the children, engaging in activities led by practitioners
16. Communication with all children, practitioners, parents and external agencies is polite and courteous at all times
17. To ensure that all seven areas of learning are taught through play and by providing motivating, enriched activities to help stimulate the children’s learning in the setting
18. To ensure the provision of a high quality environment to meet the needs of individual children having an awareness of any disabilities, family cultures and medical histories
19. All practitioners and staff have a responsibility to notify the Nursery Manager of any concerns e.g. safeguarding, parents, activities, health and safety, SEN concerns
20. To follow all routines, duties, timetables, rotas, record keeping activities and any other reasonable duty as requested by the Nursery Manager
21. To be flexible within working practices of the setting, undertaking other responsible duties where needed, such as domestic tasks, preparation of snack meals, cleansing of equipment, etc
22. To maintain and follow all Health and Safety policies and procedures at all times
23. To work alongside the manager and other staff to ensure that the setting’s philosophy is fulfilled
24. To develop your role within the team, especially with regard to being a key person
25. To keep completely confidential any information regarding the children, their families or other staff that is acquired as part of the job
26. To be aware of the high profile of the setting and to uphold its standards at all times, both in work hours and outside
27. To support nursery students and volunteers
28. To ensure good standards of safety, hygiene and cleanliness are maintained at all times
29. To undertake First Aid following appropriate training
30. To take responsibility for continued professional development by attending courses (in-house and external), receiving constructive feedback and reading relevant • Any other duties as required by the Nursery Manager or Deputy Nursery Manager within the scope and spirit of the role
31. To be flexible within working practise of the nursery and be prepared to help where needed; including undertaking domestic jobs within the nursery e.g. Preparation of snacks, cleaning equipment, putting bins out etc
Requirements;
32. Level 2 Childcare Qualification is essential for this role
33. You must be able to gain a clear DBS
34. Preferably have GCSE grades A*-C or 4-9 in Maths and English Language, or equivalent
35. To be up to date with the recent version of the “Statutory framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage” and ensure that all expectations and practice meets the requirements in the Statutory Framework
36. To be involved in out of working hours activities, e.g. training, monthly staff meetings and parents evenings
Qualities Required;
37. Have good organisational skills with the ability to work to targets and deadlines
Hours;
38. For this position, the candidate would be working 40 hours per week, with shifts between the setting’s opening hours of 8.00am and 18.00pm
