Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Personal Assistant to provide essential support in daily living activities for individuals in need of assistance. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in patient care, particularly in assisted living environments, and have experience with various care needs including dementia and homecare. This role is vital in enhancing the quality of life for our clients through attentive and personalised assistance.
Duties
* Provide support with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility assistance.
* Prepare nutritious meals tailored to the dietary needs of clients.
* Assist with medication management and ensure adherence to prescribed schedules.
* Offer companionship and engage clients in meaningful conversations and activities.
* Support clients with dementia care, ensuring a safe and comforting environment.
* Perform light housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and organised living space.
* Assist with heavy lifting when necessary, ensuring safety protocols are followed.
* Monitor clients' health and well-being, reporting any changes to relevant healthcare professionals.
* Maintain confidentiality and respect the privacy of clients at all times.
Skills
* Proven experience in assisted living or similar caregiving roles is essential.
* Knowledge of first aid procedures is highly desirable.
* Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with clients and their families.
* Excellent organisational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively.
* Ability to perform heavy lifting as required by client needs.
* Familiarity with nursing home environments or hospice care practices is an advantage.
