The Uttoxeter Veterinary Practice is an independent and sole owned Small animal practice in the Staffordshire Moorlands. We are looking for an RVN to join our currently expanding team of 3 vets, 2 RVNs and a VCA.
Our team are supportive, caring, hard working and motivated all working towards excellent patient care (With one golden rule…whoever walks past the kettle must put it on). We thrive on our relationships with our clients and work towards supporting their needs as much as their beloved pets.
Our caseload does vary as we work closely with visiting orthopaedic surgeons and a local wildlife charity. Considering this and our large client base, we all work together regardless of job roles from operating to mopping the floors
Our days run from 9-6pm Monday to Friday and 9-1pm Saturday morning. We would be looking for someone to cover 2-3 days per week and to join our OOH rota, working 1 night per week on call and 1 in 4 weekends to include the Saturday morning and on call from Friday pm to Monday pm. Part time is preferable but full time candidates would also be considered.
Salary will be dependent on experience and calculated on a pro rata basis. In addition to this, you will be paid for overtime, a retainer when on call and OOH time is paid at an increased rate.
Duties:
- Assist veterinary surgeons in surgical procedures and examinations
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the veterinary team
- Monitor and record vital signs of animals during procedures
- Perform laboratory tests such as blood work and urinalysis
- Provide nursing care to hospitalised animals
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene within the practice
Experience:
- Qualified Veterinary Nurse with relevant certification
- Previous experience or newly qualified considered
- Proficient in laboratory procedures and equipment
- Strong communication skills with both colleagues and pet owners
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
